"You'll be out for a while."
At his variety show on June 16, 2011, emcee Aaron and his ensemble enchanted their audience in the truest sense of the word. It was an evening full of surprises that was entertaining and intriguing and I know other guests felt the same.
Starclub Kassel had given a special discount to SMA employees. Many of us took advantage of the offer and attended the show, which ran from May 5 to June 26, 2011.
On the program was a breathtaking show with international performers which included a bit of hypnotainment. For me, the highlight of the night was watching the hypnotist, Aaron, demonstrate that he could actually read someone’s mind, or sense whether a person was lying or telling the truth. Do you believe it’s possible to influence someone else’s consciousness? I had that very thought myself. When Aaron asked for 15 volunteers for his demonstration, I was on stage before he finished the question. I was really curious to see if he could hypnotize me. Once all of us were on stage, he asked us to sit down. After a few warm-up exercises he started. He took my hand, looked deep into my eyes, moved my arm in circles and asked me, “What’s your name? Where are you from? Where do you work? What do you do there?” Now, those are easy questions, so I could hardly believe what happened. As he kept asking, I found it harder and harder to answer. All I remember was that after the last question there was a loud sound, sort of like a snap of the fingers, and I no longer really knew what I was doing.
Suddenly I was in the same situation as the people you see in the picture. I However, for me, the hypnosis lasted only 15 minutes before my mind stopped responding to suggestions. For the five others on stage the hypnosis the more effective. They eagerly engaged in an imaginary ice-cream-eating contest, supposedly with a prize of €100. One young woman even performed on stage as Britney Spears, only to collapse in laughter at the end of the show because she had no memory of doing it. Another no longer recognized her classmates. She actually thought they were aliens.
My take on the evening out: I highly recommend the Starclub in Kassel. Its variety shows offer something for everyone.
